LESSON CANCELLATIONS

·      If a student must miss a lesson (due to student illness, required school activity, family emergency, or religious activity), the lesson will be charged to the student. Make-up lessons will be scheduled at a time mutually convenient to teacher and student and are limited to 2 per “quarter” (10 lessons).

·      Students must email or text their teacher as soon as they know they will miss a lesson.

·      If a student misses a lesson without advance warning for any reason, they forfeit the lesson and there will be no make-up or refund.

·      Students must notify their teacher by text or email as soon as they know of a future date where they need to reschedule a lesson (due to family travel, religious activity, etc.)

SCHOLARSHIP LESSON CANCELLATIONS

·      All of the above applies. Additionally:

·      If a scholarship student misses more than two lessons without at least 24-hour notice within a “quarter” (10 lessons) they will lose their scholarship status. In the event of the first missed lesson without advance warning, students must write an email to their teacher, CCing their parent, detailing how they will prevent this from repeating.

·      If a scholarship student is more than 10 minutes late to more than two lessons, they will enter a probationary period. Whether the student continues to receive scholarship lessons will be at the discretion of the student’s teacher and the Director.

TARDINESS

·     If a student arrives late, the teacher is not obligated to extend the lesson. If a student anticipates being late, they must notify the teacher by text or email.

·    Teachers are not required to wait more than 15 minutes for a student to arrive for an hour-long lesson, and are not required to wait more than 10 minutes for a student to arrive for a 30-minute lesson.

·    If a student is up to 15 minutes late for an hour-long lesson (or up to 10 minutes late for a 30-minute lesson) an abbreviated lesson will be provided.

·    If a student is 16 or more minutes late for an hour-long lesson (or 11 or more minutes late for a 30-minute lesson) the lesson will be charged as a missed lesson without the ability to reschedule, and no refund will be possible.

MAKE-UP LESSONS

·      Lessons canceled with at least 24-hour notice will be made up at a time convenient to both the teacher and the student.

·      Teachers are not obligated to schedule a make-up lesson in the same week as the missed lesson. Make-ups will be scheduled at the teacher and student’s mutual availability and may occur the following week or later.

·      Teachers should CC the Director, Caeli Smith only when a make-up lesson has been scheduled. The make-up lesson may take place on a teacher’s private Zoom link if MusicAlly’s link is unavailable.

COMMUNICATION

·      Students should exchange cell phone numbers with their teacher for ease of communication. Students should text or email their teacher as soon as possible if they are having connection issues, are running late, or need to cancel a lesson.

HOLIDAYS/SCHOOL BREAKS

·      MusicAlly does not follow a school calendar. Lessons continue during all breaks, except for when your teacher communicates otherwise. Many of our teachers teach through holiday and school breaks. Please be in touch with your teacher directly if you need to miss a lesson due to a holiday or school break. We highly recommend that students continue lessons weekly for best results.

TEACHER CANCELLATIONS

·      If your teacher cancels a lesson, payments will be pushed forward to compensate for the missed lesson.

·      All of our teachers are in high demand as performers. Many will need to reschedule lessons occasionally. If having an extremely regular lesson time is important to you, please let the Director know.

PAYMENT

·      MusicAlly invoices students for a package of 5 lessons at a time. You will receive an invoice via PayPal or Venmo. Payment is due on receipt of invoice. If a student is consistently late with payment, their status as a MusicAlly will be reconsidered.
